“I kept always two books in my pocket,
one to read, one to write in.”
- Robert Louis Stevenson

South African Library Week

14-20 March 2022

This year the theme for South African Library Week was ‘Re-imagine! Re-purpose! Re-discover…Libraries!’ To reinforce this theme we setup story writing areas at Red Hill Library in Red Hill and Adriaanse Public Library in Elsies River. This idea came from our very own Story Room at our museum which has a dedicated story writing area. By setting up these story writing areas we hoped to firstly encourage libraries to have dedicated story writing areas in their libraries and secondly, to have a space that awakens young aspiring writers to pen down their stories.
